The Association for environmental protection and improvement „Eko-Zhivot” Kavadarci was founded in 2010 as an NGO with the aim to work on the conservation and improvement of the environment. We act as a regional eco-centre. We have excellent collaboration with the local government and the mayors of Municipality of Kavadarci and Municipality of Rosoman. In March 2014 we became members and participated in the establishment of Macedonia’s eco-platform “Green Macedonia”, a platform that will act for a cleaner and more ecological environment. Also, the main goal of this platform is to neutralise the so-called “ecological hot spots”, locations in Macedonia that are mainly affected by pollution.
Since 2012 we are members of the Ecologists’ Movement of Macedonia (DEM) and assigned by them as a regional eco-centre and executive office. Since 2018 we are also part of Food Bank Macedonia and we are coordinators of the branch of Food Bank Kavadarci and we are coordinating the project Zero Hunger Kavadarci together with the Municipality of Kavadarci. In June 2021 we have become full members of the international network CEEweb for Biodiversity. In December 2021 we have opened the eco educative centre for environmental and biodiversity education for the Municipality of Kavadarci, located in the main city park “Ljupcho Shkartov”. Our members are very qualified ecologists, biologists, lawyers and members with related professions.
